The annual Champions for Children’s Gala kicked off with a cocktail party at the Park Avenue home of Jean & Martin Shafiroff on February 19.
The gala will take place at the Mandarin Oriental, New York, on April 1, 2015. Gala honorees for 2015 are Colbert Narcisse, Managing Director and Global Head of Alternative Investments, Morgan Stanley, and Hollis Russell, Partner, Ackerman Levine. The Master of Ceremonies will be Bill Ritter, evening anchor at WABC-TV and 20/20 correspondent. Guests will be entertained by the Fat Afro Latin Jazz Cats, members of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance’s youth orchestra.
The Mission Society has been fighting on the front lines of the war on poverty for over two centuries, providing educational and youth development programs and services that improve the lives of children and families in New York City’s most underserved communities. The Champions for Children fundraising gala is an opportunity to showcase the mission’s work, highlight its accomplishments, and celebrate the achievements of exceptional individuals who share a commitment.
