On Wednesday, May 11th, The Black Institute and the Black Leadership Action Coalition celebrated six years of shaping intellectual discourse from a uniquely black perspective at their 2016 Justice for All Ball. Honorees included: New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, the Knowledge award; Ras Baraka, the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Person of the Year award; Frank Garcia, Chairman of the New York Coalition of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, the Community Award; Jacqui Williams, Founder and Owner of 99 Solutions, LLC, Leadership Award (Politics); Michelle Gadsden Williams, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Ceiling Breakers LLC, Leadership Award (Entrepreneur); and Tiffany R. Warren, Senior VP and Chief Diversity Officer, Omnicom Group & Founder of ADCOLOR, Leadership Award (Media). The event was held at 1199 SEIU’s Penthouse and was hosted by Dominic Carter, correspondent for Verizon Fios/RNN News
