Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff Slays at Central Park Conservancy Wearing B Michael

For the third year in a row, fashionista Jean Shafiroff wore a B. Michael couture creation to the Central Park Conservancy’s “Hat” Luncheon. This year the gorgeous philanthropist, author and Queen of New York Society, was clad in a striking greenfloral couture dress and hat . Designer B Michael explained to the media that his inspiration for the dress was a visit to the Monet gardens in France. “I wanted to create a dress for Jean Shafiroff that would be similar to a beautiful green garden,” said B Michael The renowned designer then enlightened the media as to how he deliberately created a very simple hat of polka dot green tulle. Said B Michael: “To overwhelm the look with a flamboyant hat was not what I had in mind, and so Jean and I decided to keep the hat very simple.” A style icon, Shafiroff, then paired the dress and hat with a flowered hand bag from her own vintage collection. To continue with the green theme she wore green suede Christian Louboutin pumps and vintage green earrings. The Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy held a “sold out” luncheon for 1200 women that raised in excess of $4 million. Always a favorite of both the social set and celebrities, alike, the luncheon ( otherwise know as the “hat luncheon” ) is one of the most sought after events of the season.
