Google Promotes Tech at Steve Harvey’s Mentoring Camp

Recently in Atlanta, Google served as a sponsor of the annual Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation Boys Mentoring Camp, where over 200 fatherless teen boys (along with their moms) were immersed in a four-day program of seminars designed to educate the young men on principles of manhood, leadership and community empowerment. Daraiha Greene made remarks at the Welcome Dinner on Thursday, encouraging the campers to consider careers in technology.

CS in Media is an initiative from Google that seeks to drive underrepresented groups (i.e. people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, etc.) toward careers in tech by shifting the narrative of computer science through mainstream media.
