On Wednesday, December 10, International Rights Day, Vital Voices Global Partnership inaugurated the Vital Voices Solidarity Award in New York City to recognize men combating violence against women. The awards ceremony and dinner were held at the IAC-IAC headquarters in downtown Manhattan.

The evening honored four outstanding men who have spent much of their lives advocating on behalf of women and girls in the United States, and around the world, to fight for universal equality and a world in which women live free from violence.

This year, four outstanding honorees received the Voices of Solidarity Award: Vice President Joe Biden, Sir Patrick Stewart, Don McPherson, and Bafana Khumalo. Seth Meyers and his wife, Alexi Ashe, served as hosts.

Other dignitaries who attended included Sally Field, Diane von Furstenberg and her husband, Barry Diller and Tina Brown
