Crystal McCrary: A Powerhouse Woman Who Is Definitely On The Ball

Extraordinary exquisite beauty Crystal McCrary, an award -winning film, television producer and author, has reached a new career height in the world of entertainment. The wife and mother, who is also an entertainment attorney, is the director/writer/producer of a feature-length documentary, Little Ballers, which chronicles the lives and challenges of four socially and culturally diverse eleven-year old basketball players and their journey to the AAU National Championship. The film debuts on Nickelodeon Sports Block at 9 PM on February 25.

Says McCrary, “They just launched it – a division to try and capture the audience when they lose a Sponge Bob kid – a sort of between age child.”

McCrary came up with the idea for “Little Ballers” while she was the Team Mom for her son Cole’s basketball team.

“First I just followed them around with a camera,” explains McCrary, I saw the friendships developing and basketball offering hope to these boys. Then I decided to put a real camera on them.”

She filmed the team from April 2011 to January 2013. Two years later, the film is now on screen.

Says McCrary, “It’s very exciting. “

Next up for this prolific producer is a documentary about her daughter’s basketball team. WNBA star Skylar Diggins will executive produce this film with her. Then it’s on to a series about a New York City sports hero, Coach Billy. There’s no stopping the talents, determination and tenacity of Crystal McCrary.

To celebrate the film’s premiere on Nickelodeon Sports Block, Nickelodeon Sports presented a special screening party for Little Ballers during NBA All-Star Weekend at Chelsea Piers in downtown Manhattan. Aside from McCrary, Little Ballers is executive produced by Amar’e Stoudemire with music by Lupe Fiasco……….
